Built-in LCD Display

The display is a 96 x 48 pixel monochrome bi-stable LCD which displays information even when not plugged in to anything. Bi-stable displays use only about one-percent of the power typically consumed by LCDs, and can display (same, unchanged) information for more than a year after power has been disconnected.



If desired, the display can be used for listing files stored on the drive, and has a status bar showing available-capacity. It seems likely that serious privacy-minded users of the encryption and zero-footprint features may not want to show a list of their files. For some the best use is for their contact info so the rather pricey device can be returned if lost; and you have to like that available-capacity indicator.
