E37- Apple Air, Microsoft Glasses, UBR-1, GTA V Mistake, iPhone 5 | Red Headed Geek Show

Meet the UBR-1. He came from a Silicon Valley start up company known as Willow Garage who now started their very own spin off company dubbed Unbounded Robotics. When they were still Willow Garage their first robot was the PR2. He was a two armed, could do anything from picking things up off the floor to serving you a drink. But his cost was 400 thousand. Not uncommon in the world of robotics. UBR-1 costs 35 thousand. He is also smaller, one armed, and built to be far more sophisticated. He is suited to do lots of things, a lot more than PR2, from aiding academic researchers to simple automate tasks like stocking shelves, inspecting products and logging production.

Microsoft is rumored to be in prototype mode for their very own high tech glasses. Why not jump into the wearable industry? Tech companies cannot afford not to. So from what I have read this leak happened because of an early Xbox One document found with some details about these glasses. First of all, the Kinect Glasses were dubbed Project Fortaleza, and some images showed Wifi or 4G internet connected eye wear with augmented reality.

3 years ago Apple unveiled the original iPad. Four iPads later we have such a light and thin little beaut it makes the older ones seem boxy and heavy by comparison. First time since the iPad 2, this is a brand new design. Its shape is new, weights just one pound, .4 lbs lighter than the previous gens, and still has that same 9.7 inch display. The processor is updated too, the same you’ll find in the iPhone 5S. Its 8 times faster than the first gen and graphics are 72 times faster than first iPad generation. It also has that M7 motion co-processor going along with it just like iPhone 5. The camera, to no surprise is still outdated, as all the iPads cameras have been, and silly feeling to use when snapping a photo. It sure is a weird thing to see.
