Geek Pulse Gives You Live Performance Quality With Its Audiophile-Grade Sound

geek_pulseWhy does music feel so good to us? Our connection to music is known to bring about anything from memory and emotion to excitement. There are all sorts of reasons, but in the end, who cares why it does what it does? We've all had a moment where we get so stuck in a song we just about lose sense of our surroundings. One thing that can make the experience that much better is the sound. Surround sound technology has been created for obvious entertainment reasons, but what if we could experience more than really good sound? So-called “audiophiles” are known as intense music lovers, who have been craving and convincing that we need a “live performance” quality experience each time we listen. Unbeknown to many, these audiophiles have been largely ignored by the world. This is possibly due to difficulty in justifying spending countless thousands on bulky equipment to provide this “quality” they speak of. Ignoring the audiophiles is no more and nothing bulky is needed. Geek Pulse from Light Harmonic (LH) is here!

A few months back LH Labs (a team of audio geeks) launched their title idea, Geek Out. Geek Out is a USB audio adapter for headphones, which was quite prosperous on Kickstarter. This time around, the have gone bigger. So big, with 4 days left on Indiegogo, Geek Pulse has reached over 900 thousand in funding, and I will tell you why. Apparently, our human ears can't hear digital audio, therefore digital data is converted into analog by using DACS (digital-to-analog converters). Although DACS are in almost every electronic we use which sound emits from, it sounds pretty sucky. So, in turn, Geek Pulse designed an audiophile-grade DAC and created a super high-end audio component.

geek_pulse1Geek Pulse is essentially a desktop version of the Geek Out device, as it has multiple inputs and outputs for a variety of connections. First is the RCAs for connecting to PCs, CD players, and amplifiers. Second, the headphone jack is via an amazing amplifier (hidden inside), creating that highly intense sound a great pair of headphones should provide. In fact, the company says it can push 3,000 milliwatts into your pair of headphones. Now that sounds like something audiophiles would want! There is an add-on for Bluetooth connection (Geek Blue), for streaming tunes from your devices. This, at the same time, contains noise reduction. Speaking of noise, Geek Pulse replicates the effect of being at a concert. Picture the position of the open-air speakers in front of you. Got it? Yeah, Geek Pulse does that! The company will begin shipping by April 2014. If interested, a pledge of $299 will get you an early bird Geek Pulse at 40% off retail price. Because their first widget became so incredibly successful, there is much hope that this one will be nothing less than shockingly sound.
