I had saved a small sum of money to purchase some computer parts and began selling them on eBay. After a few months I realized that people needed a place to go for Dell parts so I began building our website. Expected to debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona late February, LG decided to jump the gun and launch its LG G Pro 2 in South Korea. As a follow-up to last year's version, this tablet-phone hybrid is all we loved about the G Pro, but with countless upgraded specs. Say hello to LG's brand new phablet, with a stunning 77.2 % screen-to-frame ratio! Powered with Snapdragon’s 800 2.26 GHz Quad-Core processor, and running Android 4.4 (KitKat), the Pro 2 packs 3GB DDR3 RAM, a removable 3200mAh battery, and micro SD; all at 8.3 mm thick.
Obviously the flagship device is not all screen, but it's 5.9-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD pane jumped significantly from last year's 5.5-inch model. The display is as edge-to-edge, as you can get, with an extra slim 3.3mm bezel. However, there’s a lot more to be excited about than its display. The LG G Pro 2 put ample effort and care into the new camera. There’s an impressive 13MP, OIS+ (optical image stabilization) rear camera, a front-facing 2.1MP flash shooter, and Ultra HD 4K video recording at 120fps. New capture options include a slow-motion "Magic Focus" feature for selecting preferred depth, "Natural Flash" for balanced color temperature and exposure, and "Burst Shot", an option for taking up to 20 continuous shots edited together to create a video. LG also says the volume delivers clearer and more powerful than ever with it’s 1 W speaker; a 30 percent boost in sound compared to the G Pro.
The list of new features goes on and on. LG says they decided to pass on both iris recognition and finger scanners, and chose something simpler. "KnockON" allows the phone to be woken up by simply double tapping the screen. Subsequently is "Knock Code", which allows the user to create their personalized knock patterns to unlock their device. I think ‘tapping’ is a better option for this function. It’s especially convenient for both competitors, and more fitting for those who don’t enjoy scanners. "Mini View" shrinks the display size down for a more comfortable viewing with one hand. Finally, "Dual Browser" does just as it sounds, it splits the screen into two browser windows. Although no prices or specific availability announcements have been made, the LG G Pro 2 will first launch in South Korea and then other Asian countries, where larger screens are in higher demand. When asked about availability in Western countries, LG declined to comment.
