Installation and Removal Instructions
XPS 18 (1810) Motherboard

Remove the bottom screws.

Step 1

  • Remove the bottom screws.
Remove the back cover.

Step 2

  • Open the feet.
  • Remove the back cover.

Unplug the motherboard cable.

Step 3

  • Unplug the screen cables.
  • Unplug the motherboard cable.

Remove the touch control board.

Step 4

  • Remove the screws.

Remove the cover.

Step 5

  • Remove the screw.

Unplug and loosen the camera cable.

Step 6

  • Unplug and loosen the antenna cables.
  • Unplug and loosen the camera cable.

Unplug and remove the CMOS battery.

Step 7

  • Unplug and remove the CMOS battery.
Unplug and loosen the circuit board cable.

Step 8

  • Unplug and loosen the circuit board cable.
Loosen the antenna cable tape.

Step 9

  • Loosen the antenna cable tape.
Remove the screws.

Step 10

  • Unplug the battery cable.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Remove the battery.

Slide the hard drive to the right & remove the hard drive.

Step 11

  • Remove the hard drive screw.
  • Slide the hard drive to the right & remove the hard drive.

Remove the mSATA SSD.

Step 12

  • Remove the screw.
  • Remove the mSATA SSD.

Separate the clips and remove the memory.

Step 13

  • Separate the clips and remove the memory.

Remove the wireless card.

Step 14

  • Remove the wireless card screws.

Unplug the I/O circuit board cable.

Step 15

  • Unplug the fan cable.

Remove the heatsink.

Step 16

  • Loosen the heatsink screws.
  • Remove the heatsink.

Unplug the motherboard cables.

Step 17

  • Unplug the motherboard cables.
