Installation and Removal Instructions

Slide the battery out of the laptop.

Step 1

  • Slide the latches over.
  • Slide the battery out of the laptop.

Step 2

  • Loosen the screws.
  • Remove the door.

Separate the clips and remove the memory.

Step 3

Press the clips up & remove the wireless WWAN card.

Step 4

  • Unplug the antenna cables.
  • Press the clips up & remove the wireless WWAN card.

Press the clips up & remove the wireless WLAN card.

Step 5

  • Unplug the antenna cables.
  • Press the clips up & remove the wireless WLAN card.

Remove the screws.

Step 6

  • Remove the bottom screws.
  • Remove the screws.
  • Remove the hinge cover.

Remove the rear hinge screws.

Step 7

  • Turn the laptop over.
  • Remove the rear hinge screws.
Using a flat head screwdriver or a scribe, pry up the hinge cover, starting on the right side and moving left.

Step 8

  • Open the laptop.
  • Using a flat head screwdriver or a scribe, pry up the hinge cover, starting on the right side and moving left.

Carefully lift the keyboard up & unplug the keyboard cables.

Step 9

  • Remove the screws.

Loosen the antenna cables.

Step 10

  • Unplug the display cable.
  • Loosen the antenna cables.

Remove the display assembly.

Step 11

  • Remove the bottom hinge screws.
  • Remove the display assembly.

Unplug the cables.

Step 12

  • Remove the palmrest screws.
  • Unplug the cables.
  • Unsnap & remove the palmrest.
Unplug the cables.Unsnap & remove the palmrest.Remove the palmrest screws.
Unplug the stylus cable.

Step 13

  • Unplug the speaker cable.
  • Unplug the stylus cable.
  • Unplug the Bluetooth & WiFi catcher cable.

Remove & turn over the motherboard.

Step 14

  • Unplug the fan cable
  • Remove & turn over the motherboard.
Remove & turn over the motherboard.Unplug the fan cable
Remove & clean the heatsink.

Step 15

  • Loosen the heatsink screws.
  • Remove & clean the heatsink.
Remove & clean the heatsink.Loosen the heatsink screws.
The remaining piece is the motherboard.

Step 16

  • The remaining piece is the motherboard.
