Eurocom’s MXM GPU Upgrade Kit for Existing Laptops


EurocomVgaUpgrades1Eurocom Corp., a British video game developing company, designs high performance supercomputer-class mobile systems so that they're easily upgradable. The company is known for designing arcade console ports, also big name games such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End , Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, and Batman Begins. Now, it has debuted new GPU upgrade kit for phased out laptops and mobile workstations. Laptop gamers will love this, as it will satisfy their cravings for bumped up graphics cards without the need of buying an entirely new setup.

This so-called “Renaissance of Upgradeability” is great for extending the life of a mobile workstation. Not everyone can simply swap out devices when a new model comes out or when one is phased out. A lot of the time, new software means new graphics, so Eurocom provides the components for users easily upgrade and increase the performance of the laptop they already love. MXM 3.0b technology is integrated into Eurocom and laptop designers alike due to its ability to support the highest graphics performance, the new Maxwell 2 based GPUs from NVIDIA, in particular.

EurocomVgaUpgradesThe company's new upgrade kit is aimed at select Alienware and Clevo-designed gaming laptops, and works with MXM (mobile PCI Express Module) 3.0b-based GPUs (PC World). It includes the Desired Graphics Card, IC Diamond 7 Thermal Paste, Thermal Pads, X bracket and screws, heat sinks, and SLI or CrossFireX cables (when applicable) (Ten Links). This extra mileage doesn't come very cheap, however. The kits, which can be found at Eurocom's website, range from $350 to $1,995.
