D-Link’s New Adapter Kit Features Broadcom’s AV2 2000 MIMO Tech

DlinkAv2-2000-2D-Link has announced that its new Gigabit kit for home networks is the first power line adapter kit to adopt Broadcom's AV2 MIMO chip certification technology. Dubbed the new PowerLine AV2 2000 Gigabit Starter Kit, D-Link expects the tech to deliver a higher throughput and coverage for smart home devices, and the Internet of Things (IoT). This means it is capable of delivering a data rate of up to 2,000Mbps, or two to three times faster performance, simply using the electrical network inside of one's home (Cnet).

This AV2 technology works by integrating a new physical layer capable of more noise resilience, radio signal notching, coverage performance, and throughput. Included in the kit are two identical adapters, or model DHP-700AV. The DHP-700AV works like any other powerline kit, one connecting to a router, while the other connects to a device at a far corner of the house. D-Link's PowerLine Extender DHP-701AV is used to extend the powerline network as far the user desires, and features a button to establish the connection between all the adapters (Home Toys).

DlinkAv2-2000Additionally, the kit features what D-Link calls Multiple Input Multiple Outlet technology for two to three times faster performance. Each adapter can now handle larger files and heavier tasks than ever before, while automatically choosing the fastest two (of the line, neutral and ground wires) for these ideal scenarios. In the end, the home is provided with a more reliable, and higher bandwidth network to sustain HDTV, 4K media streaming, and online gaming experiences; better than ever before, says D-Link, all by “leveraging Broadcom innovation at the chip level”. The new AV2 2000 Gigabit Starter Kit from D-Link is available now.
